The aim of the project is to create a new, living, open, and fully-used public cultural space for all visitors, and above all the people of Prague themselves.

Prague has long endeavored to build a new concert hall that would meet world standards - in terms of urban design, capacity, layout, technical and architectural standards. The center of the city needs a contemporary music centre. A concert hall for symphony music was last built here more than 100 years ago. Vltavská Philharmonic Hall will become a symbol of the cultural heart of Europe and a metaphor for the grand Czech music tradition. The aim of the project is to create a new, living, open, and fully-used public cultural space for all visitors, and above all the people of Prague themselves. It will be built on the left-bank of the Vltava River in the area of Vltavská. It will thus become an icon of one of the largest brownfield sites in Prague - the transformation area of Bubny-Zátory. An international architectural competition for the appearance of the new music hall will be announced in the middle of 2021.
