We present a preliminary draft of the urban study for the Large Development Area Letňany-Kbely, crafted by architects from IPR Prague. The public will have the opportunity to review the draft study in person and provide feedback during the autumn phase of participation. Specific dates and information on how to participate can be found in the section below. The urban study serves as the foundation for the future development of the area.

In October and November 2023, we will be unveiling the draft of the urban study crafted by the IPR Prague team, and we seek your input. We value your comments, suggestions, and feedback. You are warmly invited to participate in the upcoming events:

In May and June 2023, we hosted a series of events in Letňany, Kbely, and Prosek, where we gathered your suggestions and proposals. You had the opportunity to engage with us through information panels, urban walks, debates and community planning sessions. Explore the outcomes of the community planning process:

The outcomes of the participation with local residents were subsequently validated through an online questionnaire. This provided an opportunity for those unable to attend the spring meetings in person to share their perspectives on development priorities. • A new, entirely sustainable neighborhood is being planned in Prague.

The planned new district in Prague aims to achieve complete sustainability and energy self-sufficiency. The project's main principle revolves around carbon neutrality, both in the construction and operation of the district, with the goal of balancing its energy production and consumption from external sources, ultimately resulting in zero carbon dioxide impact on the environment.

The project team intends to leverage current smart grid technology and other advanced waste management technologies, coupled with the establishment of its own energy sources. The focus is on incorporating grey/green/blue infrastructure and promoting low-emission transport, with an emphasis on public transport and shared mobility. The planned city district aligns with the conceptual development of the city, emphasizing sustainable planning and phased development of the area.

The New Letňany-Kbely aspires to be inclusive and non-elite, utilizing innovative approaches to foster shared principles of public space consumption, community activities, cultural development, and communication between residents and businesses. The project also plans to integrate the district harmoniously into the landscape and environment, promoting the growth of new animal and plant forms and cultivating a sustainable, mutually beneficial relationship between nature and humans.

Before initiating the actual design and planning, we made an effort to thoroughly understand the area of the new district and its surroundings. Identifying the challenges and constraints, along with recognizing the values and potentials, serves as a crucial foundation for contemplating the future development of the area.
