An unbelievable 10 historic gardens and parks, 78 hectares of space.

A place that attracts tourists and locals alike. An oasis of peace and quiet in the middle of Prague. An unbelievable 10 historic gardens and parks, 78 hectares of space. Fruit trees that move towards the centre of the city in a way that is no longer common. Marvellous views. Petřín in a nutshell. In 2020 we therefore compiled an assignment for the creation of a conceptual plan to determine the appearance of individual gardens and parks and to deal with the management and care of the area. The general public was also able to engage in the process. Ideas and comments provided by inhabitants will become part of the tender specifications of the tender to find a contractor for an overall conceptual study for Petřín Hill. A second round of participation will follow.

What should happen and why? What will change?

What should happen?

  • Prague City Council believes it to be important to have a conceptual document compiled and adopted for a significant area such as Petřín, one that will express broad agreement on the future of the area, define the character and use of its individual parts, the main directions of care, and the rules for onward development.
