Two public hearings will help Prague residents get to know the draft Metropolitan Plan.
Public hearings on the draft Metropolitan Plan will take place on November 19th and 26th. Members of the public are invited to visit the Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning (CAMP), where they can view the draft plan, ask questions about its overall concept, and discuss specific locations in detail.
“The Metropolitan Plan is one of the most important documents for the future of Prague. It will influence where we build, how the city will develop, and what life will be like in 20 or 30 years. It is important that people have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in debate, and express their views openly. Public hearings are an opportunity for everyone who wants to have a say in the future of Prague, and I will be happy if they take advantage of it," explains Bohuslav Svoboda, Mayor of Prague.
“The public hearing is one of the key steps in familiarizing Prague residents with the new Metropolitan Plan. We invite everyone to attend these two events and to ask questions directly to experts from the City Hall’s Department of Spatial Development, which represents the public in this process. In addition, expert consultations are available to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning," says Petr Hlaváček, Prague Deputy Mayor for Spatial and Strategic Development.
Public hearings can be viewed online
The program will begin at 9 a.m. Those who are unable to come to CAMP in person can join online. Questions can be submitted at www.slido.com #metropolitniplan.
“The multi-hour moderated lecture and discussion at CAMP will allow participants to ask questions and discuss specific locations in the Metropolitan Plan. The public hearings also include an explanation of the documentation on the Assessment of Impacts on Sustainable Development of the Territory. Please be aware that comments voiced at the public hearing are not treated as official submissions. For your objection or comment to be considered, it must be submitted in writing. The easiest way to submit comments is via the Portál Pražana," says Ondřej Boháč, director of IPR Prague.
Comments on the draft Metropolitan Plan may be submitted no later than seven days after the second date of the public hearing, i.e. by 3 December 2025 inclusive. The preferred method is electronic submission via the Pražan Portal using the Spatial Development Portal’s commenting application.
After the public hearings, Prague City Hall’s Spatial Development Department will review all submitted comments. The city is represented by its designated representative, Deputy Mayor Petr Hlaváček, with IPR Prague involved in the preparation of the plan. The evaluation of comments follows the original assignment, the overall concept of the Metropolitan Plan, and the continuity of spatial planning.
