Interreg Europe: SUP4SUD
The main objective of the SUP4SUD project is to explore how urban strategic planning can effectively incorporate the principles of sustainable development, t, align local sustainability policies, and contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the New European Bauhaus initiative. The project also aims to identify and enhance national, regional, and local tools that can strategically support sustainable urban development.
By establishing a diverse consortium that brings together partners from across Europe — representing a wide range of approaches and urban governance models, from municipalities to regions, and from innovation agencies to urban planning authorities — SUP4SUD seeks to identify and share good practices, strengthen local ecosystems, improve policy instruments, and develop guidelines to support sustainable strategic urban planning.
The Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR Prague), as one of the project partners, actively contributes to the process of knowledge exchange and mutual learning with the goal of advancing Prague’s Strategic Plan. This is pursued through the development and implementation of a tool that, based on an analysis of existing documents and the current situation, will help to unify and clarify requirements for the development of new neighbourhoods in Prague, identify barriers to implementation, and propose ways to overcome them. Within the project, IPR Prague also participates in and co-organizes local and international meetings and activities.
The project is funded by the Interreg Europe program and runs from May 2025 to July 2029.
