When people learn how to engage with their environment, it fosters a more resilient and active society - one in which citizens feel empowered to take responsibility for their surroundings and work together to find solutions.

We see participation not only as essential for urban planning, but also for the overall functioning of society. Our mission is to cultivate participatory skills and encourage active civic engagement across all age groups. This page offers educators guidance on how to teach about participation and urban systems, along with ways to apply participatory and facilitation techniques directly in the classroom. We also offer consultations for students interested in exploring urban participation as the focus of their final theses.

Role-based Participatory Game - Gap Site

A role-based participation game designed for lower and upper secondary school students, ideal for subjects like social studies, civics, or geography. The game introduces students to the concept of participatory planning and, through active engagement in discussion, allows them to experience how challenging it can be to reach consensus within a group of people with differing opinions and backgrounds. It helps develop essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, consensus-building, and systems thinking.
