Participatory planning is about opening up the process of shaping the city to everyone it affects, especially residents. People who live, work, or spend time in a place can share their needs, concerns, and ideas, and become active partners in shaping the outcome. Bringing different perspectives to the table early on helps identify potential issues before they escalate, reduces conflicts, and makes it easier to find balanced solutions that reflect a range of interests. It also leads to projects that are more responsive, inclusive, and better suited to everyday life in the city. To make this process more accessible, we’ve established a network of Planning Coordinators across Prague’s city districts, who serve as local points of contact.
Your City, Your Space is a two-year project that will visit six different locations across Prague. Our aim is to involve local residents in a dialogue about the city and its future. The project acts both as a platform for inspiring civic interest and as a channel for gathering diverse perspectives from citizens of all ages.
Planning coordinators operate in various districts of Prague, facilitating citizen engagement in local urban planning. They oversee all local projects, with the exception of large-scale citywide initiatives, and serve as your primary contact for inquiries about participation in your community. Check to see if your district has an appointed coordinator and access their contact information. Our aim is to gradually expand the coordinator network across all districts, ensuring that participation occurs as close to residents as possible and at the local level.
